why 3dstudio max???
i 95% model in autocad, due to the superior modelling natrue of a CAD package over a 3d rendering app, then visualise in Cinema 4D. bottom line tho is do what you feel suits you best. there is no right or wrong or better or worse. |

i think for big projects,or with a lot of details, its better to do the desing in autocad then render in 3dmax
for the simple project, i think its better to work directly in 3d max off the subject, try using brazil ar vray for rendring,it will give you better results |

hi Dan!
if i have a big projects i usually do the 3d in CAD and render it in MAX. but for small one i'll do it directly in MAX. i agree with Strat also to do what you feel suits you best. try to use plug-ins also for max. MARK MAC Studio |

i dont model in c4d, i use acad. but c4d's rendering/material interface is a zillion times easier, more intuetive than max's, and the render output is even better to imo.
the only thing thats a complete no-go for c4d modelling from scratch is it's 2d and spline modelling, it really is absolutely pants, and until Maxon seriously address the problem it'll remain pants. |
