Default Empty Windows

Hi,

I have been doing this architectual visualisation of a domestic property for a friend of mine. Modeling texturing and rendering is all fine, except for the windows.

The problem is that I need to put something in the windows. I can make the glass very reflective, but that just looks fake, but if I don't, the windows are all dark holes with no life.

What do you guys do?

Thanks

Marius

3ds Max btw.

You MUST put glass in the windows.
They can be just slightly transparent with a subtle, large scale bump.
Keep reflection quite subtle too.

Hi.

Thanks for the quick replies.

The interior is not important for the visualisation at this point.

I have glass in the frames, but I am trying to avoid the empty lifeless spooky house rendering I have now.

Do you guys model in curtains or blinds etc?

Thanks.

why not put an invisible skydome in for the glass to reflect? thats what i normally do.

but yes, if the elevation is in shadow you'll need something inside to show there's life there. blinds or drapes are fine.

Thanks, yes, I just put a bitmap in the windowglass enviroment map which amounts to close on the same thing.

You nailed the problem about the shadowed elevation. Busy modeling blinds and curtains now.

Thanks again,

Marius
