draw the profile and loft it. simple innit.
if it isn't that simple then please show us what kind of standing seam roof you're talking about |

well, I'm not simply looking for a side of a roof. I'm trying to figure out how I could make a hip roof, maybe use sub-object editing.
one close example I've found since my first post would be the following, yet, I haven't been able to get this to work and/or adapt to my need. http://www.cgarchitect.com/resources.../tutorial4.asp --by Montree T. I don't think I have enough of a grip with this type of modeling yet. |

Why not simplify this. model your roof planes with your correct pitch, and your hip end. then model one of the standing seams. align it to the pitch of the roof, and then array it as needed. That is how I do mine, and they look pretty good, and it is very easy.

Alternatively to model an IBR/Brownbult type metal profile roof: Draw the profile and extrude, rotate to the correct angle, collapse to mesh, boolean the corners, attach all to one piece when done.
