Where can I find good cars to use in my scenes in Max/Vray?
I'm looking on www.turboquid.com at the mo and there is some cars on there that look pretty good. Bit nervous though because I cant try one first, If you can give me any pointers where I can find some cars that you were happy with would be fntastic. Prefferably UK Spec. NO RPC! Cheers J

www.lowpolygon3d.com
they have lots of lowpoly cars with really good texturing.... I have only used the ones in their freebie section, but if I had the cash I would definetly buy one or two of their vehicle sets. these cars arent photorealistic up close, but look great from a distance |

This site has some pretty nice car models.
http://www.cgdatabank.com/cdb2001e/home_j.shtml I have downloaded the Eclipse and all the textures are there for you to play with so you can change the color of the car if you want. |

I would much prefer cars with a single UV map, well mapped. In fact, I should email the lowpoly guys and request it for the future. Otherwise, their stuff is good. The Japanese site looks like the models are very good, but so cheap that I would feel weird buying them. Also, they are highpoly, which is rarely needed in arch-vis. Lowpoly-count is usually the way to go. |

Try Dosch Design - 3D Cars...They are quite good but sometime let render slow down due to high detail of car........And Not good one when you close car view..you will see it thru other side door panel...
I have got one....Sometime I using it... Click here to www.doschdesign.com |

I'll second the www.cgdatabank.com cars. None of the 5 or so I have are textured, it's all modeled. But they are relatively low poly, as only the visible interior parts are modeled. Really nice, imo, although the scales are screwy.
I believe that they are about $4 or so each, really cheap. They are European models, or somewhere besides the US, so some of the cars have different names. I think that they are more accurate than a lot of the pricy cars on Turbosquid and usually end up looking very real. |
