Hello people,
I have found a year ago an exeptionnal .mat of stainless steel material on this site. Since then I have change working place and lost part of the stainless steel .mat. If anyone know that artist. let me know. It is a mix of anisotropic shading.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for. It's a tutorial. It works, but I found it inappropriate for appliances and such.
I ended up using a chrome material and am still looking for a good one. Tutorial: http://pchan.cgworks.com/tutorials/t...utorial02.html Also, take a look at http://www.turbosquid.com , I recently bought a nice set of materials (haven't tried them yet, though) for a reasonable fee. Try a search for ss. |

not teaching how to suck eggs but a key part to metals and anything reflective is the reflections whether raytraced or enviroment mapped etc
one thing i have been meaning to do and will be doing at the end of this month is a little on line tutorial that allows for total control on glass reflection (and metal) useful for those buildings that don't come out the way you'd hoped they would when the glass refection is doing what it should but still is not right

Producing reflections is tough because you always work out that aspect at the end of your project. trial testing can be improuved with a little tutorial for "architecture" reflection interior and exterior. 3d Doctor; I will look at your tut. and test with feedback.
