Hey Michiel, To the best of my knowledge 3DF has been cancelled and is not likely to come back.
Looks like IMAGINA could be the new venue for the European community and any North American that want to travel over. I've been asked to moderate one of the panels and so far a number of the old 3DF speakers as well. So far the panels they are putting together look great. Hope to see some of you guys there. They will be posting more info on the website about the architectural tract really soon I think.

There is no more 3DF becuase of politics and an event that was not profitable from what I understand. IMAGINA has been in Monte-Carlo for ever and I don't think they will be moving it.
This is the first year that IMAGINA is doing two architectural panels so perhaps this could be the new European Event.

Jeff,
I'm really interested in going. My firm is thinking of having me go but I need as much information on what will be the benefits of going and the information I'd get if they are going to pay my way. I work at an architectural firm just doing renderings using MAYA. Any input you have would be appreciated.

You can view the information on the two panels here: http://www.imagina.mc/layout.php?id=12 Both panels for arch viz are on Friday the 4th and feature some very prominent and experienced people in the industry. There are not many shows in the world that put on sessions of this calibre for our industry so I think it is definetly worth it. SIGGRAPH, the ASAI conference and AU are the only others that also cover Arch Viz. If there is any other information you need, just let me know and I can try to help you out.

Jeff,
Okay it's official - I'm going to be there. I have some questions. I noticed that there will be some "Masters Classes" and generally this refers to lessons in the program MAYA. Do you know if there will be any classes covering MAYA and if so do I need to sign up for them in advance? Also it said something about there being "Evening Events". Does that mean there are some kind of social gatherings? Are there any that you know of that I should try to make it to? Thanks.

Jeff,
Okay one last question. I noticed that Monaco is a French speaking province, but all the information i've seen so far is in english. I see also that a lot of the instructors and speakers are from the US. Am I right in thinking that this convention is mostly in the Elglish language or am I just wrong? Thanks.
