Hey,
Just putting here some references i had in mind for the challenge. To settle a period and a mood.
A still from the music video "The dream", Never, made by The Embassy (btw, if you never saw it, watch it !!...really nice...The Embassy ),
a still from "playtime" from Jacques Tati
and the architecture of Oscar Niemeyer...

beside this, no idea on how this is going to come together...

AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL !!! get the feeling that's going to be taff...

Hey !
Here is my new wip. I have setup somekind of light and composition scheme and, have been modeling the tati tower and a 70's style building (stack of fridges

) ...still a lot to do

Hey I really liked your final. I disagree with Hansy's comments & don't think it looks like wallpaper at all. To me it looks like there is a lot of depth in the modeling and it came through very nicely. And I do think this & your 1st challenge entry look like they were made by the same person

. The only thing that I noticed was that the street was almost pitch black & it would have been nice to see some more texture in it. But my monitor is somewhat dark, so maybe its there and I just cannot see it.

I loved the 70's look - especially the cars.

You are right with the street. It could have contained more details, as other things as well.

Really interesting to read all the critics and hope that we going to
get feedback from all judges...

but, anyway... i am happy with this 70's style.

i'm totally agree with tim, lighting compositing and depth are great, and some details could be added but image works perfectly

I also find your image interesting and the rendering is great (light/shadow)
In a way it has a great potential.. imo, i would have done this place less clean and push the idea even far... maybe taking some risk..

Also.. Honestly, what i really like is that this competition really push peoples to do/think of a different approach towards "architectural visualization"...
Just look at the diversity and reachness of images.

Maybe was unexpected, since archviz has been seen , in a way, with less freedom.
