2014/2015 CGarchitect Visualization Industry Survey

TAKE THE SURVEY NOW

CGarchitect is once again launching our Industry Survey to help professionals in our field gain better insight into the business of Architectural Visualization.  Your feedback is critical in allowing us to analyze current trends and business practices.  This is the only survey of its kind in the industry. The survey will take between 5-30 minutes of your time (depending upon how you answer certain questions) and you can stop and return to complete the survey at any time.

We realize this is a bit of work, but we rely on professionals in our field to help us so we can help them.  Once the results are analyzed we will be publishing the results in a similar article to the 2009 Architectural Visualization Industry Survey. We've added many new questions this year to help us gain an even better understanding into the trends in the field.

PRIZES

We'll be randomly awarding twenty $25 Amazon Gift certificates to individuals who complete the survey in its entirety and provide an email address. To qualify you need to complete the survey before October 1, 2015

We will be using the data received this year to compare to our previous 2009 and 2006 surveys and determine how our field has changed over the last 8 years. I think this will be one of the more insighful editions of this survey due to the previous data we are able to compare.

Thank you for your help and your time responding to our survey

I'm probably a bit late for the party, but I just took the survey. And I noticed that, sadly, you are ignoring all kinds of Open Source software in the survey.
Having worked in this industry for 20 years I know very few people use open source software professionally. The number would be so small on a survey of this nature that is would be statistically irrelevant, which is why none of those were included. If I see any sort of significant uptick in this, I would certainly include it in the survey.
Still need more data. Hopefully soon.
:D this was half a year ago. is this still under development? i understand this is lots of work, but it would be nice to get some results back after dedicating time to fill out the survey... ;-) cheers markus
The last couple of weeks I've been starting the planning for the infographics I want to release. Will start to hopefully release the first ones in the next few weeks if all goes as planned.
where can we see the results please? and is there a place where to see the former survey's results? thank you!!

Great - looking forward to seeing the results! Many thanks for your efforts on this.
Just wondering if you ever received the 1000 survey's and if there's an eta on the completed results - no rush/pressure
I'm going to be doing another push next week, but right now we're just under 2000, I would prefer to have 3000.

Wish I had more time to fill out the rest of the survey. Thanks for putting this together Jeff! I'll try to complete it later!
Thanks!

Oh boy, I started the survey, but it is so long. Since I values the previous survey's, I'll carve out some time to fill it out. Thanks for gathering all this valuable data.
It is indeed long and it generally why it takes so long for me to publish results as I wait for at least 1000 100% surveys so I know it's more or less statistically representative of the industry. It's also the reason I publish this one for free, it's a commitment to complete the survey, but I don't know anywhere else anyone can get this info. Thanks for taking the time!

The people that spend their valuable time to complete the survey for you should get it sent to them as a download for free. They might also be enticed to spend more time thinking about the answers rather than picking stuff very quickly if they knew they were going to get the results. I bet well over 50% of the people that complete this survey dont bother thinking much about what they select and as such I would guess the survey is pretty unindicative of the state of the industry.
Nigel, If you read the text above you'd see we will be giving the results to everyone later this year. I'm waiting to receive enough responses to ensure it's statistically accurate. The results are only non-indicative if you can't be bothered to read what we post. :)
The people that complete the survey should get it offered as a download for free.
Already done! I hope many companies/freelancers take the survey. Congrats again for the leadership Jeff!
When ranking on a scale of 1- 10 the importance of "whatever", is 1 the most important or is 10? There's a few instances in the survey that could be mis-interpreted.
Thanks. it's been corrected.
