Bionatics Massive Vegetation Tutorial

Press Release

Bionatics publishes a tutorial to render
scenes with massive amounts of vegetation

Bionatics, world leader in plant simulation and modeling solutions for the CG industry , published a tutorial for EASYnat and natFX to populate and render scenes including massive amount of trees and plants.

Objectives of this tutorial

The main objective of this tutorial is to provide artists with the full mandatory steps and elements to populate and render an architectural project with numerous plants and trees. We chose to render it with the Radiosity rendering technique but this method can be applied with any other rendering technique.

Why radiosity ?

Bionatics is aware that users are willing to keep Radiosity to render their architecture and that rendering trees with Radiosity is very heavy in terms of time and memory process. Bionatics then proposes this rendering method to bring a solution using Radiosity on Architecture to get rich and detailed renderings – including the daylight on the trees for example.

Why a specific method ?

Applying Radiosity to one single tree in a atrium or a small interior scene may not be a big problem. But if you want to make a larger scene with tens of trees, it can become a problem or even impossible without a specific rendering method.

How to get this tutorial

Available for free, the full tutorial called “ TUTORIAL : Render a massive amount of vegetation ”, was made with 3ds Max ® and is available in a zip file on the download page of Bionatics’ website at:

http://www.bionatics.com/EASYnat3dsmax6Download.html for EASYnat users

http://www.bionatics.com/natFXmaxDownload.html for natFX for 3ds Max users

Bionatics’ team is just happy and conscious to go on helping all the 3D artists not only from AEC industries but also from every 3D Computer Graphics in need for plant modeling and rendering professional and value-added solutions.
