My best advice would be to use reference material. The hood is indeed too low and the doors on the cabinets don't look very realistic. Find some pictures of a kitchen scene similar to your own and work off of that.

Nice start.
My first impression is that the stove vent is way to big and a little low,must way a ton to justify supports that big. :)
The doors and drawers lack depth, it looks like one flat piece.
The floor texture looks pretty stretched too.
Other than that I think it will be a nice scene once you do a better render etc..
