I got an idea for an image like this while ago but didn't find time to execute it till now. It is inspired with landscape painting of Romantic era and English landscape garden art.
Architrectural details are subtle, partialy consumed by peisage. I decided to go with medieval, Gothic architectural elements instead of classical, Greco-Roman style (which the painters of late 18-th and early 19th Century would probably prefer).
I am feeling kinda blue these days and I guess that affected my choice of palete and lighting - which is, I admit, a bit gloomy and sinister. There are even some subtle memento mori elemnts: decaying graves, sunken boat, seven crows on the bridge...
