Sorry to get back to this over 6 months later. Thank you so much for all your compliments.
i couldn't agree more with your criticism. things you say are just like that. i started doing this movie cause i was fed up with architecture, and wanted to make a different type of 'CV' and somewhere in the process, an ambition to make a 'real' movie rose, which in the end i was only aware never came true. as far as the filmstrips go, the idea was to show the projects i was working that way, but of course, nobody can tell. so in the end, it was little bit more than a showcase of 'look what i can do', and as such it served an original purpose, cause at least now i have a CV like i want to have. but as far as looking at that as a 'movie' i know i failed. so no need to apologize, i was even harsher on my self when it was done. as far as your movie goes, the thing that you managed is that you told one story, without putting in extra elements that had no place in it. so it's very clean, and it is a 'movie' one movie comes to mind, especially considering the end, actually two of them, both by tarkovsky; solaris and stalker. not that it looks like them, even directing is different, but the general feel to it. so, good work!
alkibijad, credit to you, you take criticism very well. Im sure if you re-made the movie you would iron out the kinks. And btw, thats not my movie. I wish it was, but its not.

Nice hijack ;) Im going to give my critique of your movie and it wont be pretty, for which I apologize. I think a couple of elements have been 'lifted'. Especially the film strips at the beginning, upon which you linger too long (from Alex Roman). The blues music is a complete disconnect from the Mediteranean. I mean, they really could not be further apart. I also think that a movie with deisgn intent should justify its own inception by conveying design, or at the very least have coherent structure or message to justify its won existence. Yours seems to be a string of attempts at techniques. If these techniques had been successfully executed it serves as a showpiece, but the DOF, film effects, vignettes, camera moves, color....everything had a slight flavor as if the cook was making the dish for the first time.
