The field is a combination of textures and a lot of photoshop,
no 3d plants were used

Beautiful! I'm curious, how did you make field? I've tried using multiscatter on a similarly large field and it caused all my renders to crash. Thus I was forced to reduce the amount of grass used, and use some 2d images in post, which is fine but didn't look as wonderful as this does!
