WASSERFALL FARM HOTEL

Inspired by the lines of the half-timbered German style, Fachwerk, this Hotel was designed nearby the Witmarsum Colony - a german settlement in the south of Brazil. "Wasserfall" in German means waterfall, and refers to the Salto River Waterfall on site.
This project mixes modern materials to a traditional structural element: wood. The shape of the building consists in two wings of stepped volumes that resemble the waterfall effect.
At the entrance, the visitor soon notices a large lobby, and quickly identifies the reception and the main atrium. The atrium is the main element in the internal space and aims at integrating the interior and exterior environments, providing natural lighting and wide views for contemplation of the nature, as well as promoting a space of encounter and interaction among the guests.
The idea is that the Hotel not only provides a space for leisure and entertainment, but also cultivates an experience of environmental awareness to the guests.
