Discover ‘Aedas City’, the largest ever architectural visualization rendered with Lumion

In this breathtaking animation, you can take a fascinating stroll through ‘Aedas City,’ a compilation of 7 designs from the international architecture firm Aedas, all compiled and rendered into a fictional city by the talented team at Beehive.

One breathtaking animation. ‘Aedas City’ is a compilation of masterful projects from the internationally renowned architecture firm, Aedas, brought to life as the largest visualization ever rendered with Lumion. Behind the animation is Beehive, the visualization studio based in China that was one of the first in the country to adopt real-time rendering into their workflows.

Released on June 8th on the official Lumion YouTube channel, the ‘Aedas City’ videopushes the boundaries of architectural rendering, making it the largest 3D scene and render ever created with Lumion. As the video takes viewers on a journey from one design to the next, showcasing each of Aedas’s projects from multiple angles (interiors and exteriors), viewers get a front-row seat into the beauty and the real-life role of these designs in their local context.

To bring these architectural designs to life, the rendering team at Beehive captured a fast-paced, exciting atmosphere by showing bustling city streets, busy pedestrian walkways and an array of lighting conditions.

Because Lumion works alongside other CAD and design tools, it often requires a significant amount of computer hardware resources when you’re working on large-scale developments and other complex projects. The ‘Aedas City’ animation, for instance, was built at such a scale and complexity, it required over 30GB of video memory. To help with the project, AMD sent over one of their recently released Radeon PRO W6800 graphics cards with 32GB of memory, which worked nicely to ensure smooth frame rates when building the scene and faster rendering times for the video clips.

The ‘Aedas City’ project demonstrates that, with a fast and modern graphics card, anything is possible in Lumion, as architects are no longer constrained by technology to bring their designs to life in vivid detail.
