BOXX Introduces Intel® Xeon® Workstation Available with Four GPUs

AUSTIN, TEXAS, April 24, 2012—BOXX Technologies, the leading authority on dedicated rendering and innovator in high-performance computing systems for product design, visualization, engineering, visual effects, and more, today introduced the 3DBOXX 4925, the industry’s first single Intel® Xeon® processor workstation with support for up to four GPUs. The latest addition to the BOXX 4900 series workstation line, 4925 enables users of Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® 3ds Max®, SolidWorks, CATIA, and other professional software applications, to simultaneously design and render without bogging down the processes.

“3DBOXX 4925 offers PC users and those dissatisfied with mass-produced systems an opportunity to move up to a professional, multi-task, workstation,” said Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX VP of Marketing and Business Development. “Our integration of the latest eight core Intel Xeon processor, ECC memory, and four NVIDIA GPUs provides creative professionals with a level performance that will truly increase their productivity.”

Available in standard and GPU versions, the air-cooled 4925 features an eight core, 16-thread, Intel Xeon E5-2600 processor with ECC memory to safeguard against internal data corruption. The GPU edition, available with up to four NVIDIA graphics cards, enables engineers, artists, designers, or scientists to interact with high-performance visuals while performing simulations or renderings on the same workstation – at the same time. Eight DIMM sockets for quad channel DDR3 SDRAM provide faster memory performance and overall, 3DBOXX 4925 delivers improved application interactivity and responsiveness while decreasing power consumption. In fact, the Intel Xeon E5-2600, delivers an 80 percent performance boost over the previous generation Intel Xeon 5600 series1,2, yet manages to consume 50 percent less power1,3.

“By offering a single processor Intel Xeon E5 workstation in addition their dual processor systems, BOXX once again demonstrates their commitment to providing engineers, product designers, scientists, and other creative professionals with the latest Intel innovations necessary to work more efficiently,” said Joe Curley, general manager of Intel’s Professional Workstation Group.
