Bionatics, the world leader in plant simulation and modeling solutions for the CG industry, announced today a spring special on its line of natFX. To benefit, all orders must be placed before June 30th, 2003 to receive 50 % additional plants free of charge.

For all purchases made before June 30th, 2003 Bionatics will increase any plant package by 50 percent. For example, buy natFX with 10 plants and receive 15, buy natFX with 20 plants and receive 30. Offer is valid to a maximum purchase of 200 plants. Orders can be placed using Bionatics’ secure online Payline or offline.

To purchase natFX for Maya or 3ds max online, go to www.natfx.com , select your preferred platform and then click the Buy natFX icon. Add natFX for 3ds max or Maya to the shopping cart with the preferred plant package (entry level package has 10 plants, with special 15 plants) . You may prefer to benefit from the special and select a higher plant package with 30 (with special comes to 45 plants). To select the plants, click on My Shopping Cart, then Add a Plant. You will then be taken to the online nursery where you can make your selection. All plants are free of choice.

To purchase natFX Maya or 3ds max offline, go to www.natfx.com, select your preferred platform and then click Sales Contact. Choose a local authorized reseller or contact Bionatics directly.

Whatever purchase method is selected, plants remain free of choice among the 300 available plants. You may choose to select the desired plants while ordering or at anytime in the future using the remaining plants on credit. For instance, if you have a credit of 20 trees, you may select any number of trees at once or one at a time until credit is depleted. This is useful as the on-line plant library is constantly expanding and being updated.

natFX is a plant modeler and simulator plug-in for both Maya and 3ds max, enabling the user to quickly and easily generate a procedural tree or plant from a diverse nursery. The natFX line is especially adapted to the strengths of each host platform. Both natFX for Maya and 3ds max enable users to generate trees using Bionatics’ exclusive hybrid technology. The hybrid technology drastically reduces polygon count while retaining organic shape and aesthetic quality. A weeping willow with 120.000 polygons is reduced to below 300 and maintains its rich textures and volume, thus reducing render time.
