Autodesk Announces "Pro Booleans" for its 3ds Max Subscription Customers

Benefiting from the Autodesk Subscription Program-3ds Max Software Customers Will Receive New Extension to Create Highly Detailed 3D Surface Models

January 9th, 2005-Autodesk Inc. today announced a new subscription delivery for its 3ds Max 8 software called Pro Booleans, a new value-added feature extension, offered exclusively for its subscription customers. Pro Booleans delivers expanded flexibility for the installed modeling tools in 3ds Max, Autodesk's professional 3D-animation software.

Pro Booleans brings the highest quality modeling results to subscription customers worldwide, helping them accelerate and realize their ideas in gaming, visual effects and design visualization.

Pro Booleans, based on Power Booleans from NPower Software, is a mature, production-proven tool set from a company specializing in 3D modeling, surface and translation technologies. Pro Booleans is ideal for building highly detailed inorganic shapes such as vehicles, hand-held items or mechanical objects appealing to 3D artists in visual effects, game development and design visualization. Other powerful aspects of Boolean modeling include creating detailed, accurate surfaces with minimal numbers of polygons-at high-speed performance.

Pro Booleans is best known for quality modeling results, and avoids common Boolean modeling pitfalls that can generate surface flaws and other errors such as creating long, thin pieces of geometry. Pro Booleans will also offer 3ds Max subscription customers Pro Cutter-a tool designed to dismantle a model in a number of different ways.
