I used to do a lot of abstract renderings 15 years ago on 3d studio for DOS, no one got them then. then suddenly everyone wanted 3d.
You have really made my day, Elijah. As I wrote in my comment, though, I only spent an hour on this. Which, I suppose, could be considered a lot of time for a bunch of pebbles. But I am glad you dig it; as you quite rightly observe, many people simply won't get this. My kids do, though, and absolutely love it, so it is now my wallpaper. If anyone makes this their wallpaper, do tell. Finally, Blender/Cycles is simply incredible, so as I always say, a good craftsman needs great tools, and Blender certainly is that.
If no one else appreciates this I do. I like this for two reasons, One, you used and open source product like blender and not the typical Autodesk product and two, this took a lot of time to do and most people won't get it. To me this is a labor of love. Real artwork. And, this is beautiful. I would bury something shiny in it. Great work.
