Usually, the luff of the headsail follows a straight line from the top of the mast to the bow of the boat. The leech of the headsail is not attached to the mast, but flies free and is controlled by a line that leads back to the cockpit. Like this. Some standing and running rigging would help the realism too. Also, like Yama mentioned, the sails are usually a little translucent, like this. You could make a b/w texture that emulates the seams and stitching and put that in the transluceny map of your sail texture, and that would go a long ways towards adding realism. The last thing is that the clouds seem very low on your horizon, almost like the horizon from your sky map doesn't match the horizon of your rendering. It's a good start, though. I'm looking forward to the progression.
More detail in the modelling would be nice.
The sails could use some transluency. Specially with that beautiful sunset in the back. It would give a nice effect.
