Gavin, yes sir!!! I will fix it the moment I am back at my pc! :) Thanasis, you are right on the mark too! ! I need to make the edges of the rug more rough and uneven. I will look at the sofa mapping to. I have to do some small animations of the spaces now. Going to be a bit of a render challenge with iRay perhaps?? I will post how it goes as they get rendered. I agree with Gavin that the white balance is good. I think with some tweaks (such as sofa texture, which is so big - carpet that is like a box - horizon of the environment which is falling and with a little more contrast) would be very good images.
Yep nice job. Image one outside horizon line totally off!! Fix it!!!!!! Lovey white balance!
Nice renders, I like the lighting and modeling. The textures are nice too............. kitchen cabinets look more like plastic than wood or laminate. Having said that, they are still some very nice renders. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Aubrey. Thank you for the kind words and comments. The kitchen scene was the longest and hardest to render. It took iRay aaaaaages to clear up. My machine also bombed several times, I clocked my gpu's at 96 degrees, no need for the heating to be on with that!! You are right about the cabinets. They are meant to be grey laminate :( Sent from my INQ Cloud Touch using Tapatalk
Nice renders, I like the lighting and modeling. The textures are nice too. The only things that jump out at me are in the bedroom the curtain looks like it's intersecting the bed. The dramatic wind effect on the curtains is a little much for my taste but that is just my personal preference. The only other thing is that the kitchen cabinets look more like plastic than wood or laminate. Having said that, they are still some very nice renders. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely images , but the time to render in a everyday work situation is way too long. Is it working for you, have you tried Vray ?
Thanks Phil. Yeah the time is a little long but then the client wanted high quality and working in mentalray with a quick conversion over to iray was a far easier work flow than Octane which I was intending to use. I tried doing it all in mentalray but to be honest by the time I was going for the final output it was taking about 6 hours as well with the all the final gather bounces. I haven't tried Vray, I would love to but financial restraints are keeping me using MentalRay and iRay as they are free........sort of, minus the subscription costs each year :(

A nice set of renders. The backplate in the Bedroom is not right.i.e. the horizon is falling away too much.
Ah hell so it is :D I better update that and reissue to the client. Thanks Neil for pointing that out! :)

meant to say they were rendered at 4096 each, average time was 6 - 12 hours on 2 gtx 480's.
