Hillside Villa

Jason - Thats a fair comment, guess I was in two minds when it came to consolodating an approach. The project has moved a bit on now anyway - the client has indicated a complete change in appraoch to the architectural design. I sense a few long nights ahead of me. I may look at this again in the future for my portfolio, I may do the whole run-down throughout the render, but for now its back to modelling an entirely new villa. Thanks to everyone who commented - it always helps to get fresh eyes on a project .... Andy
IMO, I get two different feelings from this rendering. First, the scene suggests an abondoned house by the way the ivy is growing and the staining on the reflecting pool. The second feeling I get is a house that is kept perfectly clean with ivy growing on it, where the owner has left the pool and deck to weather. If the first is the correct feeling, then the house should have decay on it as well as the pool and the glass should be dirty. The rendering is nice but the message is unclear.
Yup the water is too dark compared to the thing that should be reflected in it, wich are mostly white.
Nice design and Rendering.....but i think the image is a bit blurry......and the pool water is too dark comparing the whiteness of the main structure!
nice textures and ivy
This looks awesome. Congrats.
Thanks for all the comments. I have added a more dramatic sky and changed the lighting accordingly. I will revisit the ivy and foreground detail when I next get the chance. Thanks again ... Andy
Very nice. Great architecture and lighitng. I would try a different sky just because your subject is very light and could pop more with a darker/more dramatic sky.
I totally agree.
I agree with the sky, and the ivy seems to have grown out of no where. Ivy does give it a nice feel to the scene as though no one has been around for a while.
I like the render, the sky as mentioned could be different. For me it's personally the ivy that's look odd. Other than that it's pretty nice.
Agree with the sky..., fine architecture, materials and lighting but it elicits the mood of an abandoned place. Is that the idea? I mean, was that the idea?
