yeah.. it helped to some extent.. and i've been working with daz since it was first released and poser since '05. I'm just not the greatest rigger or uv mapper. If things are already mapped I can texture the hell out of them; but, the mapping stymies me. I've been in on the testing of Reality 4 for poser and Daz and I'd really love Paolo to work on a reality plugin for revit and sketchup. I think that architectural visualization would open up a whole new field for him.
Hey Dwayne, Thanks! Glad you liked the render. Most of the models in the image come from the Sketchup 3D Warehouse, but for this image I only used Sketchup to clean them up (when necessary) and export them in obj format. All of the layout/material application was done is Daz. I suppose you could work the same way with an entire scene, but Daz has problems with obj files sometimes if they're too complicated. Hope that helps!
Fantastic render. I, too, use Daz Studio and Luxrender. I still haven't been able to figure out a good workflow to get my stuff from Revit to Daz for rendering. I've used VRay and Maxwell as well as a couple other render engines out there but just can't see to get the same quaility that I get out of Lux. I know sketchup isn't that far off from Revit; so, I'd appreciate some insight as to your workflow to get your scenes from skp to ds. Thanks
