A slight variation

Yes, I have to agree, it was never going to be the most artistic image in the world, it's a fairly plain new build house with little style. Its was done to try and woo some small local developers who build these kinds of homes not to make any great artist statements. I do have a lot to still learn though and doing these last new project I've already learnt a fair bit from across the board, although artist flare has always been a bit of a weak spot of mine I admit. You are correct with plants thing, I'm a bit low on high quality 3D plant asserts so it would bit difficult to set the shot within a wider environment but it's something I should probably look into. You're also spot on with the glass, I played around a bit with a fall off map in the reflection slot to try and manually tweak the reflective effect. I shall apply your settings and see what happens. I considered drapes but I'm afraid that was just laziness on my part. The bricks and paving are reflective though, just very blurred. I may try it via maps rather than just overall reflective though to see if that adds a little extra. Adding a bit of variation in the roof tiles map might help too with overall realism. Thanks for advice on this, It's critical but that's what I need to improve. I looked at your work, its pretty swish.
The fact that you dont have 3d trees or a more realistic environment to place this house in is causing you to crop your image too closely. The sides of the house need room to breath, and personally, I dont like to show all the walls equally. If your recreating this from a photo, just use that for materials and geometry. I googled "suburban house" and I can see why you ended up with this camera angle. It also seems like a hard subject to photograph artistically. Unless you're getting paid for this, I would find another subject to experiment with. Look at other work on this website for ideas about composition and mood. Also the diffuse of your glass should be black , not white or grey. Fresnal 2.2 (boosted reflections), 245 white reflect and refract. Try a translucent drape behind the glass. Every material should have a reflection, the brick and pavers should all have their own reflection map no matter how slight.
