Lake Shore Boulevard

THE PROJECT
Lake Shore Boulevard is a master plan that re-imagines 2150 Lake Shore Boulevard as a new dynamic heart of Humber Bay Shores. Our client First Capital and internationally renowned Master Planners, Allies and Morrison, are working together and with the local community, City and Provincial Government to develop a mixed-use, transit-oriented development that meets the needs of the neighbourhood.
The scheme aims to address present and future community needs including a proposed integrated Transit Hub as well as improved cyclist, pedestrian and road infrastructure and more places to eat, shop, live, work and experience. The vision for this 28-acre site is for a complete community and new heart for Humber Bay Shores bringing connection and vibrancy to the local community.
CITYSCAPE'S ROLE
As a creative communications agency, was to describe this proposal to the local community, decision makers and city stakeholders in a way that engage and re-assure them. We bought this vision to life through the development of a strategic and innovative marketing campaign. We produced collateral that builds brand, adds value and creates desire. When responding to this brief we sought to focus primarily on purpose, offering a creative solution through client engagement and understanding what the key messages were.
FIRST PERSON HUMAN STORY
With a brief like Lake Shore Boulevard it’s about considering the future of urbanisation and meeting the needs of a global population that is expanding and urbanising at an increasingly fast rate. The world is experiencing a digital revolution and the dramatically changing needs of society and industry have to be met by development. But there is another focus to this, it's about creating a new neighbourhood, how we experience a place is more than just buildings. In fact with our personal experience of a place, architecture is a secondary element. To create a first person 'human' story is a much more relatable way to how we actually perceive our environment and what gives us a sense of place.
