I think would be if the splashes were not all frozen in time at the exact same moment and there was more variation between them. Also the scale of some of the distant splashes seems quite big.!
i agree with Chad, the drop explosions seem similar, maybe have 1 or 2 really exploding.. also looking at the sky the rain looks heavy, but impact on water seems like a lite rain...great job overall, lighting, mood..

cool. i shud really get working on particles then. i have'nt ever used it as such.

Drops are 3d. I used standard max particles. Yes, there is a lot of work done in PS.
the building looks great! how did u manage the raindrops? u must have done post work on photoshop right?
@Tommy L - yes that's a raindrop @chadw - the splashes are not all in the same phase. There are several phases scattered and the splashed also vary in size. @wesleyindia - The ripples are bump mapped with a texture I created in PS. The fog is created in post with the Z-depth channel.
the reflection on the surface of the wet building gives a thunder bolt happening on the opposite but watching it keenly shows the scene lit with that light :P.... good detailing in every thing.... can you tell me how u got that ripple effect in the water..... :) and also the distant fog effect.... thanks...
Looking good. Some things that could take it over the top I think would be if the splashes were not all frozen in time at the exact same moment and there was more variation between them. Also the scale of some of the distant splashes seems quite big. I would be interested to see a version of this without the wine glass and catepillar as well.... while they are quite nice I think they distract from the image. I really love the atmosphere and overall look of the image though. Thanks for sharing!
Looks great but I think there would be more raindrop splashes on the walkway and they wouldn't be so big.
Nice work! Is that a blob of water on the lens where the bush and roof meet? Nice touch. Ive never done a rainy image. I think you really captured a rainy mood, but the caterpillar looks like its in a strange pose.
Wow, I'd never seen a viz this rainy. I say you guys did pretty good overall.
