Is it better to brighten things up in Ps, or render it back again with more lighting?
I personally would re render with better lighting and then just tweak it in PS. As for the book covers, there are a ton to be had if you do an image search on your favorite search engine. I takes a bit to map them on but the effort makes a big difference.
Overall the image is way to dark. The window looks like it has the smoothing groups cleared out as you can see the polys. You can see how it is breaking up the reflections. Your books don't have any covers, just colors, that is one of the reasons library's/book shelves can be a pain. The modeling looks good and I like the globe lamps though not the color. So brighten it up a bit, add some book covers and fix the window. :)
Yeah, I always have this kind of problem. In 3dsMax the image looks fine, but in Ps, it gets darker. When I print it, it gets even darker. Is it better to brighten things up in Ps, or render it back again with more lighting? The globe lamps turns out to be in that color due to post edit. I'll post a better one after I fix stuffs. I used AutoCAD for the structure modelling. For the window panels, you are right, or perhaps worse: I forgot to apply smooth groups. Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to do something with the book covers, it is a pain to make it. But, well, no pain no gain. =D Thanks for the C&C!
