For this project we recreated parts of Vancouver, Canada as they were in 1948 for a fully navigable and immersive 3D enviroment.
To build these lost location of Vancouver the art team had to pour over all kinds of documents. From fireman's maps to actual blueprints, from archival photographs to plans submitted for approval by architects. The objective was to build an environment as true and accurate as possible.
As the user navigates the environment on their mobile device they happen upon snippets of conversation which reveal a larger picture of the mood in Vancouver in that era, as well as immerse themselves into a fictitious story written by Stan Douglas and Kevin Kerr.
The project has been critically acclaimed and has been featured in Time magazine.
