My goal was to design an ecological single – family house, which area would oscillate around 250 and 300 sqm. Completely no limits regarding overall cost or building site gave huge variety of opportunities in design process. Eventually, the house was to be placed at the lakeside. Although this solution might be little abused and sounds chliche, it’s timeless and give a whole spectrum of design opportunities.
In order to maximize the integration between the house and the lake, building took shape of a cube suspended over the surface of the water. Exterior was finished with steel plates and whole block was clasped by a frame made of black concrete. Nearly whole area of a south elevation was glazed with 2 storey–high revolving windows in order to provide magnificent, broad lake panorama. Movable steel wire screens was installed to prevent overheating and letting too much sun inside.
