About Michael Ordway

Realism is my art, and the digital world my canvas. 3D art is what I do, and how I create; from ultra photorealistic images of architecture to concept images that get people excited for what’s being developed. My images communicate ideas, sell concepts, and inform design at all stages. Design imagery is one of the most important parts of presenting your work, and it’s my job to make it look great! Another passion of mine is teaching, I’ve been teaching college classes for nearly a decade and by far the best classes are the History of Animation and History of Game Design courses. We all know that Toy Story was the first full computer generated film but did you know that a French studio created the first CG animated series called Insektors in 1994, which predated Reboot by a few months? Even though we have fun in class I’m always looking to get my students industry exposure as early as possible, everything from networking events to the time we took a class trip to PAX East! In my free time I help to run the Transmissions podcast network. It’s a pop culture geek podcast network that focuses on Transformers and other eighties cartoons. But the best part of that is the show that I run! Empire of Rust is a Transformers themed actual play gaming podcast that my friends and I play. It gets edited down to the best parts and published bi-monthly.
